Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
STAGE 1: INQUIRY This is a time of faith sharing stories and introduction into the Catholic way of life. This stage culminates with the Rite of Acceptance/Welcoming
STAGE 2: CATETCHUMENATE A time of deepening of faith and learning about Catholic beliefs. This stage culminates with the Rite of Election at St. Michael's Cathedral, Springfield, MA on the first Sunday of Lent.
STAGE 3: PURIFICATION & ENLIGHTENMENT A time of reflection and preparation for reception of the Easter Sacraments. This period culminates with the celebration of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist at the Easter Vigil Mass.
STAGE 4: MYSTAGOGY This is a time to experience the Easter Sacraments with the parish family and develop a personal commitment to witness the Gospel message. This stage extends to Pentecost Sunday
