Extraordinary Ministers of The Eucharist

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

In 1973, Pope Paul VI introduced the practice of permitting laypersons to serve as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.  This ministry of service is calling forth persons from the parish community recommended by the pastor and with the approval of the bishop.

At. St. Rose de Lima Church Extraordinary Ministers assist the priest and deacon with distribution of the Eucharist at Mass whenever there is a pastoral need.
