Rev. Mr. Leon M. Mireault (Deacon) is a native of Springfield, MA. Together with 10 of his fellow deacon candidates, he was ordained Permanent Deacon by Bishop Joseph F. Maguire on May 25, 1991 at St. Michael's Cathedral. Deacon Leon is a retired Deputy City Collector of Taxes for the City of Springfield. 
 
Deacon Leon and his wife, Marie-Jeanne (Fontaine) are 3rd generation parishioners of St. Jude Parish in Indian Orchard, MA (formerly St. Aloysius). They are the parents of 3 adult children: David and his wife, Holly, of Auburn, Maine; Philip and his wife, Judith, of Keene, New Hampshire; and Denise Hannigan and her husband, Joseph, of Longmeadow, MA.
They also have 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. 
 
Deacon Leon has been assigned to St. Rose de Lima Parish since the last year of his diaconate formation in September, 1990, having been invited by Father Leo A. Leclerc. His principal duties are administrative.
